Gluten Free Bread Crumbs

No need to run off to the store to get gluten free breadcrumbs! If you happen to have gluten free bread on hand you can make these super simple gluten free breadcrumbs! All you need is an oven, a sheet pan, and 6 slices of gluten free bread.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 slices gluten free bread see notes for a quality option.

Instructions
 

  • Set the oven to the air fry setting if it has one, or to 400°F.
  • Arrange 6 slices of bread on a sheet pan. Do not use parchment paper or the bread can become too moist.
  • Place the bread slices in the preheated oven. Cook on one side for 10 minutes.
  • Remove the pan, flip the bread slices, return pan to oven to cook for 10 more minutes. Bread should cook for a total of 20 minutes.
  • Let bread cool. After bread is cool begin breaking the pieces apart with your hands. You might also choose to use a gallon sized zip lock bag to crush the pieces in.
  • Once bread crumbs are to the size of your preference, use in any recipe. See notes for moisture and texture.

Notes

I used these bread crumbs in my gluten free turkey meatloaf. They were a perfect consistency for what I was making. If you find that you want your breadcrumbs even drier after the 20 minutes at 400°F, you might opt to turn the oven up to 425°F and cook for another 5-10 minutes.
